The Office of Bilingual Education / ESL for North Forest ISD is currently planning and exploring interest regarding a Dual Language program for North Forest ISD students.
The Two-Way Bilingual Program also known as Dual Language Program will begin at three NFISD schools: Thurgood Marshall Early Childhood Center, Lakewood Elementary and Hilliard Elementary. This is another way by which we can raise our student performance and foster bilingualism, biliteracy and biculturalism in our community. Meetings are being held in order to afford the community an opportunity to learn more about Dual Language. The next meeting is scheduled for August 3, 2010 at Thurgood Marshall Early Childhood Center at 5:00 p.m.
